Apple iPhone 17e
The Phone 17e is a smartphone product planned by Apple to be released in the first half of 2026. It is the second generation affordable version of the e-series iPhone and an iteration of the iPhone 16e. The specific release date is uncertain, but multiple sources indicate that it will be released in March 2026.
In June 2025, multiple sources revealed that Apple had initiated preparations for the renovation of the iPhone 17e production line. On July 11th, Apple confirmed that it will include the iPhone 17e in its new product launch plan for early 2026. According to supply chain information, Apple plans to control costs by reusing previous generation components, with a target of around 20 million units shipped in the first year.
Apple is also promoting supply chain transfer and plans to fully relocate the production line of the US version of the iPhone to India by 2026. [4] The iPhone 16e accounted for 11% of US iPhone sales in June 2025, an increase of 120% in market share compared to the iPhone SE during the same period. Apple will continue to iterate and launch the iPhone 17e to consolidate the mid-range market, but the configuration gap with the iPhone 17 base version will significantly widen.
The iPhone 17e is equipped with a 6.1-inch 60Hz low-power OLED screen jointly supplied by BOE, Samsung Display, and LG Display. The screen has been upgraded from the previous generation's notch screen to a dynamic island design, marking the complete retirement of notch screens from Apple phones. The processor is equipped with an A19 chip based on TSMC's 3nm process technology (which may reduce GPU cores), with 8GB of built-in memory and Apple's self-developed C2 baseband chip, supporting 5G network and MagSafe wireless charging function.
The imaging system adopts a single camera design, equipped with a 12 megapixel front camera (some sources claim it may be upgraded to 18 megapixel and support character centering function) and a 48 megapixel rear camera, supporting 3D face recognition. This model comes pre installed with the iOS 26 operating system and integrates Apple Intelligence intelligent functions for the first time. The storage capacity starts at 128GB.
