Motorola Moto G Play(2024)
On January 16, 2024, Motorola released the latest member of its affordable Moto G series - Moto G Play (2024). Also known as Motorola Moto G Play Gen 3.
In terms of appearance, the Moto G Play (2024) retains the 6.5-inch 90Hz display with slightly wider bezels. The back of the body has a matte texture, available in sapphire color, and the screen also has a water-repellent coating.
In terms of cameras, the biggest highlight is the main camera upgrade to a 50MP sensor (f/1.8, 0.64μm), which is a significant improvement over the previous generation of 16MP. Thanks to pixel binning technology, sharper images can be captured at lower resolution outputs. In addition, HDR and phase-detection autofocus have been added to further enhance the shooting results.
The main camera also supports 8x digital zoom and offers a variety of shooting modes, including Night Vision, Portrait, Live Filter, Panorama, Pro Mode (Long Exposure), Dual Camera Photos, Burst Shooting, and more. The front-facing camera has also been bumped up to 8MP and supports Google Lens integration and AI-powered smile detection.
In terms of battery life, the Moto G Play (2024) is equipped with a 5000mAh battery, which is officially claimed to have 46 hours of use on a single charge, which is not as good as the 72 hours of the previous generation, but it is still very good. In addition, the charging speed has been increased from 10W to 15W, but the 10W charger is still included in the box.
